Wellcome to Taimi's and Tilli's pages!

My name is Maija Tavia, I'm a mother of three almost adult girls and the owner of two Rhodesian Ridgebacks Taimi and Tilli. I have had the priviledge to enjoy the companionship of dogs almost all my life –  since the age of two.

My first dogs were poodles. With Ridgebacks I've lived now since 1989 when we imported "Kerttu" (Janak Moonshine Maiden) from Great-Britain. She was the honourable member of our family for 13,5 years. Also Taimi got to know her and learned from her "some manners of the house".

A true and honored companion

That is what dogs really mean to me. They are not and they never should be substitutes for children. Dogs are dogs, they are magnificent animals with personal charasteristics. I've always been interested of their behaviour and tried to understand world from their point of view. This has helped also to solve some challenges in their training and in many situations in every day life. Many times we humans see things too single-minded. Dogs are however a totally different species and code a totally different language than we do. Read more>
